Our legacy began with YOU, our Aggie engineers. You have shaped the Texas A&M University College of Engineering through your hard work, dedication and perseverance to change the world.
That is why we are excited to partner with Publishing Concepts Inc. (PCI) on the Oral History Project to hear about your time as an engineering student at Texas A&M. From finding love in Aggieland to standing with the 12th Man, and everything in between, these significant moments have cemented your legacy and will last for generations to come. Your stories will be recorded, transcribed and, along with submitted photos, published as a book that will be available to purchase. If you purchase a book, then you will also have the option to purchase exclusive College of Engineering former student merchandise.
If you haven’t already, you will receive a postcard and email from PCI on our behalf with the invitation to discuss your legacy. See the images below for a close example of what your email and post card from PCI will look like.
It’s legit. We have partnered with PCI to produce an oral history publication for the College of Engineering. PCI is a family-owned business based in Dallas that has published directories for educational institutions, fraternities, sororities and military organizations across the nation for over 100 years. This project allows us to hear about your personal experiences from your time at Texas A&M and the College of Engineering and how the school helped shape your life since then. And while we have you on the phone, we want to make sure your contact information is up to date.
Yes, in a few different ways:
PCI is committed to protecting your information. The names, addresses and information provided to PCI for the publication of the Oral History Project will be held confidential by PCI, except to the extent that they are used in, or in the preparation of, the Oral History Project and except as required by court order or law. Upon completion of the project, PCI will redact personal identifiable information from all electronic files that we have supplied or that were produced by PCI in connection with the production of the Oral History Project.
The only information that will be included in the publication is your name, class year and degree, along with your story and photo. No contact information is printed. When you call to update your contact information, it will only be used to update your alumni record for the school and the alumni association. Any time before Nov. 18, 2022 you may revoke consent for your story and/or photo to appear by contacting PCI’s customer service helpdesk at 1-800-982-1590 or customerservice@publishingconcepts.com.
You can call back at any time before Nov. 18, 2022, to share your story.
You will receive an email with a link to upload one photo (black and white or colored) plus a caption.
If you have also purchased a book but do not have an email address on file, you will be sent a photo mailer to send a physical photo to be printed (note: the photo will be returned if you include a self-addressed, stamped envelope).
The Texas A&M University College of Engineering Oral History Publication is available for sale only to Texas A&M College of Engineering alumni.
Contact PCI’s customer service helpdesk at 1-800-982-1590, and they will take care of this for you.
