Raymundo Arróyave, associate professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Texas A&M University, has been appointed associate editor of the Journal of Materials Science. He began his new role this month.
“The Journal of Materials Science is one of the premier multidisciplinary materials science journals and reaches a large cross section of the materials science community,” said Arróyave. “I am honored to have been invited to serve as associate editor.”
Arróyave currently serves as vice-chair of ASM International’s Alloy Phase Diagram Committee and vice-chair of the Functional Materials Division in TMS. He was appointed to be associate editor of the Journal of Phase Equilibria and Diffusion in 2015.
The Journal of Materials Science publishes reviews, full-length papers, and short communications recording original research results on, or techniques for studying the relationship between structure, properties and uses of materials. The subjects are seen from international and interdisciplinary perspectives covering areas including metals, ceramics, glasses, polymers, electrical materials, composite materials, fibers, nanostructured materials, nanocomposites and biological and biomedical materials.
