M. Katherine Banks, vice chancellor and dean of engineering, has appointed Dr. Anastasia Muliana the Cain Faculty Fellow I in Mechanical Engineering in recognition of her accomplishments and future potential. The endowed faculty fellowship is effective April 1.
Mulliana is a professor in mechanical engineering. She joined the Texas A&M engineering faculty in September 2004. Mulliana received her bachelor’s degree from Bandung Institute of Technology, Indonesia and her master’s degree and Ph.D. from Georgia Tech University, all in civil engineering.
Her research interests include analytical, numerical and experiment approaches in areas of structural and computational mechanics, i.e. nonlinear and time dependent constitutive material modeling, thermal stress analysis, contact and damage modeling, delamination crack growth in laminated composites, micromechanics of composite materials and structures, multi-scale material modeling, modeling nanoindentation tests, large-scale nonlinear structural analysis, numerical and finite element modeling and neural network simulations in engineering.
