The Professional Association for Industrial Distribution (PAID) at Texas A&M University recently hosted its Annual Crawfish Boil. Nearly 300 students participated in the event that allows officer candidates to announce their candidacy and provides members an opportunity to interact with others socially. Additionally, members have the opportunity to philanthropically support various charitable organizations.
Industry partners who sponsored the event chose charities they wish to see benefit from member participation. More than $4,100 was donated by members to The Salvation Army, the Muscular Dystrophy Association, the American Cancer Society, Sky High for St. Jude and the Raise the Roof Foundation.
PAID is the third largest student organization at Texas A&M and is the only student organization to host two career fairs for a single major. PAID serves as a link between industrial distribution students and industry. The industrial distribution program at Texas A&M is the oldest and largest program of its kind in the United States, with 60 years of excellence in teaching and research.
