Katherine M. Banks, vice chancellor and dean of engineering, recently announced new administrative appointments for Dr. Cindy Lawley, Dr. Vikram Kinra, Dr. Mark Weichold and Dr. Sunay Palsole.
Lawley has been appointed assistant vice chancellor for academic and outreach programs and assistant agency director for workforce development; Kinra will serve as director for engineering global programs; Weichold has been appointed associate dean for academic affairs; and Palsole will serve as assistant vice chancellor for engineering remote education.
Lawley was previously the executive director for workforce development. In her new role, she will oversee the continuing education and professional development programs, conference programs, community college partnerships, engineering academics, pre-K-12 engineering outreach and teacher training programs and the engineering system schools for academic and non-academic programs.
Kinra, who is a professor in the Department of Aerospace Engineering, will work across college of engineering departments and international regions to develop a strategy for expanding its global reach. He will lead efforts to develop new opportunities in regions of the world of strategic importance to the college.
Weichold, who is the director of the Halliburton Engineering Global Program, will oversee the development of the engineering science curriculum. He will continue to lead the Halliburton Global Programs, and will represent the dean of engineering at various internal and external forums.
Palsole will develop strategic innovative solutions for remote engineering education and advance the mission and goals of the college for both academic and non-academic courses for College Station and regional campuses. This will include developing online, blended, distance and open programs and courses upholding high standards of quality and rigor.
