Texas A&M University’s Department of Mechanical Engineering rose in undergraduate rankings compared to other public institutions according to the 2018 U.S. News & World Report Best College Rankings.
The department was ranked eighth based on last year’s report, but raised its position to seventh among public institutions for undergraduate rankings. The department also maintained its ranking of eighth for graduate programs.
“We are proud of the work of our faculty, staff and students to continue to propel our department toward preeminence,” said Department Head Dr. Andreas Polycarpou. “The improved ranking indicates success within our department, college and university as we impact the world around us.”
Overall, the Texas A&M College of Engineering rose two places from 16 to 14, and one place for public institutions from eight to seven among its peers.
