Dr. Jay Porter was recently appointed associate dean for engineering at Texas A&M University at Galveston and will assume his new role on June 1, 2018.
Porter has been a faculty member in the Department of Engineering Technology and Industrial Distribution at Texas A&M University for 20 years. He is currently a professor in the Electronic Systems Engineering Technology program as well as the associated department head for undergraduate studies.
Porter’s research interests include analog and RF electronics, instrumentation and measurement, virtual instrumentation development, mixed signal integrated circuit test and characterization, and magnetic resonance imaging. He is passionate about STEM education and promotion and has been involved in numerous projects including a $1 million ITEST grant to educate teachers about STEM principles and careers.
