Texas A&M Engineering’s undergraduate engineering program was ranked eighth among public engineering schools offering a doctorate (tied with University of Wisconsin-Madison), and No. 14 overall, in the recently released 2019 U.S. News & World Report Best College Rankings.
In all, six departments were ranked in the top 10 among public institutions.
The Harold Vance Department of Petroleum Engineering and the Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering, which is part of both the College of Engineering and the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Texas A&M, both ranked second among public schools and overall.
The Department of Aerospace Engineering (6th), the Department of Mechanical Engineering (7th), the Zachry Department of Civil Engineering (8th) and the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (8th) ranked in the top 10 among public institutions and in the top 20 overall.
The Artie McFerrin Department of Chemical Engineering (13th among public institutions/21st overall) and the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (12th/20th) moved up in the rankings this year.
