Kathryn Denton ’81 and Robert "Robby" Denton ’80 have established the Kathryn Denton ’81 and Robert Denton ’80 Chemical Engineering Scholarship to provide support to one or more full-time undergraduate students in good academic standing in the Artie McFerrin Department of Chemical Engineering.
“My father was an Aggie, class of 1948, so I grew up with Aggie traditions, including the most important one – giving back to Texas A&M University for the education I received,” said Robby. “My degree from the chemical engineering department was my ticket to a wonderful job at Exxon Production Research Company, and I owe that to the wonderful professors that I had.”
Robby began his career at ExxonMobil three weeks after he graduated with a degree in chemical engineering and recently retired after 38 years of service. During his tenure at ExxonMobil, Robby worked on various engineering assignments that took him across the world, from Texas and New York to Malaysia and Qatar.
“My job provided Kathy, me and our two children, Michael and Chris, a chance to see the world and we have wonderful memories from that experience,” said Robby.
