Dr. Chanan Singh, Regents Professor and Irma Runyon Chair Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Texas A&M University, was named a 2020 foreign fellow of the Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering (CSEE).
CSEE fellow is the highest professional distinction in the society. It honors those who have made extraordinary accomplishments in the pioneering of new and developing fields of technology or practice in power engineering or made outstanding contributions to the progress of society and the organization and development of CSEE. CSEE is a nonprofit, non-governmental academic and professional organization of scientists and engineers in the electrical engineering field. Among this year’s cohort are three U.S. National Academy of Engineering members, including Singh.
Singh’s research interests lie in the areas of reliability and security of electric power systems, theory and applications of system reliability, integration of renewable energy sources, and the reliability of cyberphysical systems.
