Three faculty members have joined the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Texas A&M University with research expertise in areas such as empirical software engineering practices, artificial intelligence and big data systems.
“With the ever-increasing role and impact of computing in society, our field faces significant competition for talent from both industry and academia. We are excited to have such promising faculty join us,” said Dr. Scott Schaefer, head of the department.
The three new faculty members include:

Dr. Khanh Nguyen, assistant professor, who received his doctoral degree in computer science from the University of California, Los Angeles, and his master’s and bachelor’s degrees in computer science from the University of California, Irvine. Nguyen’s research interests include complier and runtime support, programming languages, memory management and big data systems.
