Dr. Farzan Sasangohar, assistant professor in the Wm Michael Barnes ’64 Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Texas A&M University, has been named the editor-in-chief of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society’s (HFES) new journal, Human Factors in Healthcare.
The journal will be published by Elsevier and will bridge the gap between academic research and practice of human factors and ergonomics in health care. As editor-in-chief, Sasangohar will have the opportunity to set the vision for the publication.
Sasangohar will be representing the research and academic side of the publication, and the journal will begin publishing in June.
“It is my great honor to gain the trust of my research community to lead one of our flagship professional society journals. I intend to do my utmost to ensure the journal remains relevant, high-impact, high-quality, inclusive and respected,” Sasangohar said.
Sasangohar’s research interests focus on understanding and improving human decision-making and performance in safety-critical work environments using a plethora of innovations including remote continuous monitoring and connected integrated systems.
