The Aggie spirit significantly impacted Laurie ’85 and Marvin “M.L.” ’86 Morrow. So much so the couple is passionate about giving back so that more engineers can experience what it means to be an Aggie.
In 2020, they established two endowed funds in the J. Mike Walker ’66 Department of Mechanical Engineering. Now, they have expanded their generosity to include a scholarship in the Zachry Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
M.L. graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in civil engineering. Since then, he has contributed to engineering solutions across the globe through his dependable leadership, management and engineering expertise throughout his 33-year career with KBR Inc. He is currently the vice president of project management.
Laurie graduated with a mechanical engineering degree and quickly put it to use as a thermal analyst with The Boeing Company, supporting NASA on the International Space Station contract. Laurie continued to work with Boeing for 34 years, holding management positions supporting the space shuttle and space station programs.
The Morrows are proud of the Aggie experiences that brought them to where they are now and how they continue to impact their lives today.
“Our experiences at Texas A&M have shaped our lives since graduation,” Laurie said. “Not only did we receive great educations, but over the years and around the world, when people see our Aggie rings, there is an instant bond.”
Through their gift of establishing the Marvin “M.L.” ’86 and Laurie H. ’85 Morrow Family Endowed Scholarship, the Morrows are opening doors for students studying civil engineering, so they can also experience careers as Aggie engineers.
“The quality education and experience we received allowed us to have exciting careers and lives, and we want others to be able to experience that too,” Laurie said.
How To Give
