Rebecca Simon from the J. Mike Walker ’66 Department of Mechanical Engineering is being recognized with a 2024 President’s Meritorious Service Award. She will receive the award during the university-wide awards ceremony on Wednesday, April 10th.

The President’s Meritorious Service Award honors a select group of staff members, supervisors, and teams for their outstanding contributions to Texas A&M University. Recipients exemplify the Aggie core principles and are held in the highest regard for their professionalism, dedication, and contributions to the university.

Rebecca completed her bachelor’s degree in agricultural leadership and development from Texas A&M University in 2008. Following graduation, she began her career at the Texas A&M School of Public Health. In 2012 she joined the College of Engineering as a program specialist for Engineering Academic and Student Affairs working with various undergraduate programs.

Simon joined the mechanical engineering department in 2017 and now serves as the assistant director of graduate advising.

“I am extremely honored to be a recipient of the PMSA,” said Simon. “My success would not be possible without the incredible support I have received from the mechanical engineering leadership and my colleagues starting from the first day in the department.”
