Rebecca Marianno has been honored as a Regents Fellow by The Texas A&M University System Board of Regents.

Since 2021, Marianno has served as the program director and director of operations for the Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station’s (TEES) University Consortium for Applied Hypersonics (UCAH) Project. In 2020, the Department of Defense (DoD) Joint Hypersonic Transition Office (JHTO) selected TEES to establish and manage UCAH to support national research and workforce development in applied hypersonics. Supported by over $100 million in DoD funding, UCAH conducts cutting-edge applied research. Marianno coordinates initiatives and manages administrative operations in close collaboration with the government, significantly expanding Texas A&M Engineering’s impact in the hypersonics field.

“Rebecca exemplifies excellence in engineering administration and leadership,” said Dr. Robert H. Bishop, director of TEES and vice chancellor and dean of engineering. “Her contributions have not only enhanced the efficiency and effectiveness of the departments she serves but also significantly advances Texas A&M’s mission in the field of engineering on a national scale.”

She also manages bi-annual conferences attended by over 300 industry, academia and government representatives.

The Regents Fellow Service Awards program was established by the Board of Regents in 1997 to recognize employees who have made exemplary contributions to their university or agency and to the people of Texas.

This award honors extension, research and service professionals within the agricultural and engineering agencies, health science center and veterinary medical diagnostic laboratory. These professionals must demonstrate significant commitment and contributions to their respective agencies by providing exceptional leadership in educational or program delivery, scholarship, research or service, resulting in significant impact and lasting benefits to Texas and beyond.

To date, 201 agency professionals have received the Regents Fellow Service Award.
