The Texas A&M Foundation has 14 development officers dedicated to supporting the Texas A&M University College of Engineering with funds raised through endowments, planned gifts, gifts of securities or real estate, as well as one-time contributions. These funds are then used to provide support to our students, faculty, programs and facilities.
Listed below, you will find a brief synopsis of the top-tier funding needs established by Dean Robert H. Bishop and College of Engineering leadership. We invite you to learn more about the strategic vision that is transforming the college. To further discuss these innovative and impactful opportunities, please contact Austin Schilling, Assistant Vice President of Development.
- College of Engineering Naming: As a world-class, top-tier College, the Texas A&M University College of Engineering is deserving of a name that will enhance its legacy in perpetuity.
- Discovery Complex: As the College of Engineering surpassed the 25,000 students by 2025 goal in the fall of 2023, there is a need for more space. The College has targeted a state-of-the-art, technology-integrated facility addressing Global Challenges such as water, environment, energy, transportation, health, and AI.
- School of Computing: To address the growing demand and need for computing and computer science, the Texas A&M College of Engineering is proposing an expanded role of Computing by establishing a School of Computing within the College of Engineering. This would see the creation of new or expanded degree programs, increased students and faculty, and foster ways to infuse data-centric discovery and decision making across Texas A&M research and educational initiatives.
- School of Engineering Technology and Industrial Distribution: The Department of Engineering Technology and Industrial Distribution (ETID) in Texas A&M's College of Engineering has quickly ascended to become the largest department within the College. ETID now ranks among the top engineering technology and industrial distribution programs in the country. The School of ETID will revolutionize the educational delivery of these degrees to further enhance Texas A&M’s standing as the preeminent destination for students, faculty, staff, and industry partners.
- Graduate domestic fellowships: Faced with the challenge of encouraging domestic students to pursue advanced degrees, graduate domestic fellowships provide support to recruit graduate students and help them offset the cost of graduate tuition.
- Endowed Faculty Positions: The college has made a significant investment in obtaining world-class faculty. Endowed chairs, professorships and fellowships are needed to reward exemplary career achievements and retain these highly qualified individuals in today’s competitive market.
- Endowed Faculty Opportunities:
- Department Head Chair | $2.5 million
- Chair | $1 million
- Professorship | $500,000
- Assistant/Associate Professorship | $250,000
- Faculty Fellowship | $150,000
- Endowed Faculty Opportunities:
- Texas A&M Engineering Academies: In direct response as Texas A&M’s mission as a land-grant institution, the College of Engineering is serving students throughout the state of Texas through Engineering Academies. These 10 Academies are located throughout Texas and provide an affordable transition for qualified students who begin at a two-year college and complete their Texas A&M degree at the College Station, Galveston, or McAllen campus.
- Aegis SPIRIT: Aegis Aerospace Multi-Use Space Platform Integrating Research & Innovative Technology (SPIRIT) represents Texas A&M’s first research facility in space. This experiment facility on the International Space Station is a platform dedicated to research by Texas A&M.
